Q: How do I send a gift certificate?

Caring for your Alpines

To clean your Alpines, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting the Alpine in the washing machine or dryer.

Does the Alpine work well with snowshoes?

The answer is YES! The Alpine is a great boot to pair with snowshoes, especially with the zero-drop, FeelTrue® rubber soles for a low center of gravity. Most snowshoes secure the boots with straps that go over the toes, instep, and around the heel, and will work just fine with the Alpine. And with our 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C, and the fully seam-sealed, water-resistant inner bootie, your feet should stay warm and toasty while you’re hiking!

What’s the cold weather rating for the Alpine?

Unlike, say, sleeping bags, there’s no accurate temperature rating system for shoes. How a shoe handles the cold (or, rather, how a person handles the cold in a shoe) depends on factors beyond air temperature, including: ground temperature, humidity, blood circulation in your feet, foot mobility (the more you move, the warmer you might feel) and, of course, the socks you’re wearing (or not wearing, as the case may be).

The short answer is, the Alpine has 200g insulation, rated to -25°/-32°C.

With the seam sealed bootie, heat-reflecting insole, insulated synthetic lining, and lugged sole, we’re giving you a cozy natural movement option for staying warm in the cold.

Do you ship internationally?

We do! We’ve sold Xero Shoes to people in more than 85 countries around the world.
We use the US Postal service to send our shipments. The cost to ship will depend on the weight of the package and the delivery speed you select; several options will be provided at checkout.

All domestic shipments come with tracking. Limited tracking is available for some first class international shipments depending on the country, and full tracking is available with all Priority Express and Express International shipments.

Though almost all of our international orders arrive without incident, we strongly advise you to select Priority Express International or Express International if you live in a country with a less reliable postal service, including (but not limited to) India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Indonesia. We cannot guarantee delivery of packages shipped using First Class International.

International delivery can take anywhere from 3 days to 8 weeks depending on how long your order spends in customs at the border.

Please note that some countries do require the payment of import duties for international shipments above a certain value. We advise you to know the import regulations of your country and understand that you will be responsible for payment of any duties and fees imposed by your government at the border.

All packages will be marked as merchandise; as a commercial shipper, we are not able to mark a package as a gift (if you’re giving Xero Shoes as a gift, that’s not the same as us sending a gift).

Great walkers

My second pair of alpines; seems my toes have straightened over the past year, thanks to these shoes and lots of walking. In -20°F I wore these with an over boot for additional insulation. I don’t wear the insole, don’t need it. Great shoe for me, seems waterproof. Waterproof can play both ways; meaning dry the inside after extended wear.

Not waterproof

These are super comfortable, but they are not at all waterproof. I've gone through two pairs now, and neither were waterproof. Even walking through damp grass is enough to soak your feet. Customer support told me they had no current plans to update the waterproofing, so I will be looking outside Xero for another option for next winter.

Excellent, Except for Deserts or Semi-arid Areas with Cactus

I bought these because they were the closest you offer to a boot that can be used in desert environments. But alas, they can't. They're great boots on forested areas near where I live in Lincoln County, New Mexico, work as advertised in such environment. But not far away is lots of desert hiking, and these simply don't stand up to mesquite thorns and cactus spines, which go right through the sides and mesquite thorns right through the otherwise tough sole, which actually nicely stands up to sharp rocks. Thus, please consider building a pair of desert boots made of leather. And I'll buy them, as will hundreds of other desert hikers.

Fantastic boots

Used them everyday over the Canadian winter. Kept me warm and dry. Treads could have better traction though.

Don't hold your foot securely

Unfortunately these are probably headed to the Goodwill. Overall they seem fine except for one fatal flaw. No matter how tight I tie them my foot slides front to back, so I am always jamming my toes in the front of the shoe. They need to be better formed to the foot to hold the foot more securely.
